This is the last known Baalphegor rehearsal to exist before the name, style & line-up change to Azimuth.
You can definitely hear that Azimuth was just around the corner.
Der Vinteress is the first black metal track that Dmitri ever composed.
A couple of times I drop my sticks during rehearsal which is evident in this recording.
Matt returned to his vocal style that he used with his previous death metal band, Death Sentence. They were also an incredible Tasmanian extreme metal band as with Van Diemen too.

Some trivia, a couple of months later I made Dmitri a BM compilation tape, the next week at rehearsal he had dropped all the DM songs we were working on in favour for new BM tracks. Both the vocalists left so I had to take on vocal duties as well as the drums.
When Dmitri and Jason decided to finally leave the band (as Azimuth) during 1997 I was devastated to loose something in which I invested 8 years of my life on. I remember at the time my girlfriend saying "don't worry... you have Striborg". It may of not been much of a consolation back then but history shows otherwise.

Baalphegor originally began as Golgotha in 1988.
Sin-nanna (Russell Menzies) joined as drummer and brief vocalist in 1989 when they changed their name to Krucifior.
Another name change came in 1994 as Baalphegor. Many line-up changes occurred during this bands existence. In 1996 the band changed styles and line-up as Azimuth, a black metal band. The band ended in 1997.
